Returns & Refunds Policy – Burger Meubels
At Burger Meubels, we take pride in offering quality products and reliable service. This Returns & Refunds Policy is in line with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), No. 68 of 2008, and explains your rights and our obligations.
Defective, Damaged or Faulty Goods
In terms of the Consumer Protection Act, if a product purchased from Burger Meubels is defective, damaged, unsafe, or not fit for its intended purpose, it may be returned within six (6) months from the date of delivery or collection.
Customers may choose one of the following remedies:
- A full refund
- A replacement of the same or similar product
- A repair at no additional cost
Burger Meubels will cover reasonable costs related to the return of defective goods.
This does not apply to defects caused by misuse, neglect, incorrect installation, power surges, accidents, or normal wear and tear.
Damage on Delivery or Collection
Customers are requested to inspect goods upon delivery or collection.
- Any visible damage must be reported immediately or within 48 hours of delivery.
- Claims submitted after this period may not be accepted.
Change of Mind Returns
Burger Meubels is not legally required to accept returns for change of mind.
However, change-of-mind returns may be considered if:
- The item is unused, unassembled, and in its original packaging
- The request is made within 7 days of purchase
- Proof of purchase is provided
Approved change-of-mind returns may be subject to:
- A handling or administration fee
- Store credit or exchange only (no cash refunds)
The following items are not eligible for change-of-mind returns:
- Mattresses and bedding (for hygiene reasons)
- Special-order items
- Clearance or sale items
Online Purchases (Cooling-Off Period)
For purchases made via the Burger Meubels website or other distance-selling methods, customers may cancel the transaction within 7 days of delivery, in accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).
Returned goods must be unused and in original packaging. Return shipping costs may be for the customer’s account unless the product is defective.
Refunds will be processed once goods have been received and inspected.
Items That Cannot Be Returned
Unless found to be defective, the following items are non-returnable:
- Mattresses and bedding
- Clearance, sale, or voetstoots items
- Products damaged due to misuse or incorrect installation
- Products altered or repaired by unauthorised third parties
Proof of Purchase
All returns, refunds, or exchanges require a valid receipt, invoice, or proof of purchase.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be made using the original payment method where possible.
Please allow 7–14 working days for refund processing, depending on your payment provider.
Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights provided under the Consumer Protection Act. Burger Meubels reserves the right to inspect returned goods before approving a refund, repair, or replacement.
